Once our membership committee verifies your National status, you will be a member. You should get a welcome package and your local membership card in four to six weeks. You can Download our Membership Application and drop it in the HOG box at the dealership or turn it in at our next meeting. DON’T forget your dues. This is to show current National membership status. What are the types of Chapter memberships? Local HOG chapters have only one type of membership (annual). Chapters do not have life memberships or collect dues for multi-year memberships. What is the membership period?
How does the membership renewal process work? Pre-printed renewal applications for the upcoming year will be available at the October and November meetings and will be distributed after the November meeting. The renewal application must be completed, signed and delivered at a meeting, or dropped off at the dealership. Proof of current/active National H.O.G. membership is required. Your National H.O.G. membership must be current. If it's not, call 1-800-CLUB-HOG (800-258-2464) or visit www.HOG.com to renew. If you leave your renewal form at the dealership, you MUST include proof of National membership (a pencil rubbing, imprint or photocopy of your National HOG membership card) with your renewal form. This is to verify your current National HOG membership status. You can obtain an e-mail verification of your National H.O.G. by visiting www.HOG.com . National HOG life members do not have to provide proof of membership status. Members not renewing by December 31, will be considered a new member, have to pay new member dues and will loose their continuous membership status. How much are dues?
Why does it take so long to get my Chapter membership card? The membership committee checks the HOG mailbox at least once a week (usually more often) to process new applications and renewals. The applications are checked for accuracy and to verify National HOG membership. The applications are than passed to the database manager who enters the information and prints out Welcome letters and membership cards. Not a time consuming process, even during renewal season. Please keep in mind, all local HOG “staff” members are volunteers who devote lots of time, effort and love to their HOG duties. But just like most of us, they also have jobs, families, Harleys, vacations, business travel and other things to distract them. So depending when you drop off your paperwork, it could sit in the HOG mailbox for a week, it could be a week before the database manager picks up the processed applications, it could take a week or so to actually enter the data in the computer and the Welcome Package mailed. It could also take a day, if the timing is right. Most membership cards get mailed out within two weeks. How do I can a ten-year pin? Members must maintain continuous local chapter membership for ten years to receive a Chapter 10 year pin. What is a continuous membership and how do I maintain a continuous membership? Membership must be renewed before December 31 each year to maintain continuous membership. Members not renewing by December 31 will be consider new members and loose their continuous membership status. Do I get any kind of a discount at the dealership for being a National or Local HOG members? Active local Chapter members receive a 10% discount coupon for participating in certain Chapter events. This coupon may be used at Harley-Davidson of Washington or All American Harley-Davidson in Hughesville, Maryland. National H.O.G. Membership Information.
