"Back in July 2012 we transfered to the NCR. My husband has a 2005 Road King and was shopping around for a "favorite" dealer in the area. Before winding up at HD Wash we went to a rather Patriotic HD Dealership and just weren't wowed with the experience. Plus, I was in the market for a used Sporty on which to make my entrance into the motorcycle-riding arena, and they just didn't have anything close to what I wanted to pay. Thus we packed up and drove into Maryland...and are we glad we did! We lucked out by meeting the wonderful (and mentioned many, many times) Jimbo and many of the rest of the staff. Long story short, my huband had to buy a skid lid and some extra gloves to ride my impulse purchase 2007 Sportster 1200 Low home that afternoon. LOVE THIS DEALER!!! I am so happy that my first Harley came from them. Every time we've been in they've been so kind, in every department. Go there for your Harley needs -- you won't be sorry!"

"My 09 Electra Glide is a police bike that never made it into it's dept. fleet, that said, the original owner removed the air seat that it came with. I live in Triangle, VA and yes I came here to purchase 2 bikes for me and hubby (Mar 12). I live really close to a HD Dealership in VA but decided to call HD Wash when they didn't seem excited to sell me a bike. So I called HD Wash and spoke with Jimbo. "I rode 12 hours on Friday May 25th from Massachusetts and stopped for dinner. After dinner my bike wouldn't start. On Saturday morning, I called for roadside assistance thanks to my H.O.G membership and the dealership told me to have the bike towed in. I got to the dealer at 1 pm and they were "expecting" me. Within 2 hrs, the problem had been diagnosed as a failed power commander. The service team got my bike running as promised and I was able to salvage the rest of Saturday and all day Sunday of riding. "I was in the market for a bike and a friend of mine told me to go check out these guys at HD fort washington. I was a bit hesitant because I wasn't exactly sure if I wanted a Harley or not. I decided to stop by there one afternoon on my way home from work and it seriously did not take long for me to make up my mind. i was nearly instantly sold on it. The dyno guy was great and his tuning was spot on. I wanted a great street engine and that's what I got. Dynoed @ 95 hp and 95 ft/lbs torque with a torque curve as flat as Kansas on a conservative dyno. Easy to ride and w/o temperament it is exactly what I wanted. "Good on ya" guys Chip"

We decided to stop in to Harley of Washington one day just to look around, from the time we walked in the door we were made to feel welcome. "I bought my frist Harley from Ft Washington back in 2004 (my 4th Harley in all) I walked into the dealership knowing what bike i wanted, 2004 Fatboy black. As i turned the corner in the show room there set the bike i was looking for and Jimbo was pushing it to line it up with the rest of the new bikes. "After totaling my bike on Labor Day weekend, I needed another ride for an upcoming trip. I had to work fast and hard to determine what I wanted and of course I wanted to get the best price possible. I visited all the local shops, 5 in total. Well I can attest that Fort Washington was not only the easiest to deal with, they provided the best pricing too! Jimbo worked to secure the bike I wanted, viewed at another dealership and Thom, "I can do that", meet my every request for pricing and enhancements. "After visiting several Maryland Harley dealers and looking on-line from Virginia to Penna., I stumbled on the customer testimonials of the Harley dealer of Washington located in Ft. Washington, just before the beautiful National Harbor. So after having dealing with Laurel (unsatsifactory experience), I took a chance at visiting the Ft Washington dealer. The experience from the very beginning was EXCEPTIONAL. I was ALWAYS TREATED WITH THE UTMOST RESPECT. And all staff was warm and friendly. "I'm not a fan of long negotiations when purchasing any vehicle or motorcycle, but Tom, Mike, Angie, and Monica made the buying experience enjoyable and hassle-free. "I purchased a 2010 Softail Deluxe. The process was seamless. I stopped by on Saturday to look at bikes and Jimbo showed me several. He was very patient and helpful and answered all of my questions. The Deluxe was the last one I looked at and I just loved it. By Thursday it was mine (and that includes the two days that the dealership is closed). The financing process was simple. I just completed the online application over the weekend and Thom called me on Tuesday with the details. I signed the papers on Thursday and they delivered it to me on Friday. "I purchased my first bike - a new 2007 Street Glide - from HD of Washington, and the experience was great! However, my comment is about something very simple, but that is indicative of the type of people who work at your dealership. This past weekend I stopped by for a visit. A friend noticed that my tourpack had a light out. I've never replaced one, so I asked the parts counter if they knew how. The counter rep said no, but there is a mechanic right there and he could probably help. The mechanic's name was Rick. Not only did he help, but he happened to be working on something and he was able to take me back and show me exactly how to do it. It was only a simple light bulb, but his willingness to take some time to show me allowed me to change it right there in a matter of minutes. I am very appreciative of his assistance and his professionalism. You have some great people who work there! Also (and this is off-topic), but I was leaving your dealership when that cable fell into the street on Saturday. It just missed my group, but I did notice that at least one bike went down. There seemed to be a lot of people who ran over to help, so we did not return or dismount. I just hope that the rider is OK. Thanks again for a great experience. Mike"

Moreover, he made himself completely available each time I came by to shop around (their inventory is always changing, so you get a wide selection). My in-store shopping/browsing must have spanned at least 3 weeks and I made at least 6 or 7 visits (a total of at least 4 or 5 hours asking Thom questions). Just to make sure that I was getting all of the information, I checked out some of the local HD competitors. I was on vacation and arrived in shorts, a t-shirt and some sandals... My overall experience at one of the competitor's shop was totally opposite to that of Harley Davidson of Fort Washington... I was there for about 30 minutes before anyone approached me and when they did it was an instant push to a bike that I was not interested in at all. Maybe if I had on a pair of kakis and a polo they would have taken some time with me (nothing wrong with polos and khakis - I own them as well - and I have a boring office job like so many others). Just the same, Harley Davidson of Fort Washington is the right place to get what you want and they will take the time to make sure that your selection is the right one!!!! This buying experience was the same for when it was time to pick out my riding gear! In fact, we arrived late to sign our sales paper for my Springer (I got an unbelievable deal on this bike) and, because we were so late, we passed their closing hours. Regardless, Harley Davidson of Fort Washington KEPT THEIR FOLKS THEIR PAST THEIR CLOSING HOURS TO MAKE SURE THAT I HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED IN ORDER TO RIDE - HOW'S THAT FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! And, that experience was just as informative with a lot of great insight about riding gear. In short, everyone is very professional and they know their business! You will NOT go away disatisfied! Thank you, Thom, and the entire Harley Davidson of Fort Washington crew for everything - You have a customer for life!"

"Many thanks for a great execution by Jimbo, Thom, and the warm staff of Harley Davidson of Washington D.C. on the purchase of a 2011 CVO Streetglide. There were only two of these bikes in the Kryptonite/Black available in the area. It took me several days to get down to see it. During that time Jimbo updated me on the status of the bike, with no pressure whatsoever. When I was able to get to the dealer on a Saturday at the end of February they were busy, but Jimbo was most attentive. When it came to numbers on my potential trade, Thom was no-nonsense and right to the point. He simply said I will give you this amount for this one or this amount for that one sight unseen. Additionally, though I have owned and ridden several Harley's for over 30 years I had never ridden a Streetglide. They rolled a brand new one off the floor and off we went. "I just bought my 2011 Heritage at HD Washington and it has been an awesome experience both before and after the sale. I'm in my 50s, and I'm a new rider. I knew exactly what I wanted, right down to the color, so in terms of a dealer, it was only a question of finding the bike. I found it at both HD Washington, and another local dealer. My phone contacts with each dealer made me prefer to do business at HD Washington. But I needed to take the Rider's Edge course, which HD Washington didn't offer. Since the other dealer did, and would deduct the cost of the course from the price of the bike in addition to any other negotiated savings, I had reluctantly decided to go with the other dealer. But I figured I'd at least give HD Washington a shot. I dropped in, saw Mike in sales and told him my story. He immediately told me they'd match the deduction for the course even though I'd be taking it at the other dealer, and that would be on top of any other savings we could negotiate. After some straight up, no BS back and forth with him and sales manager Thom, we made the deal. In the days and weeks that followed, I had a series of "MVP" experiences. I needed to get "lower" and general manager Jennifer immediately hooked me up with a great local upholstery guy who did what was needed just by taking some padding out of the top and sides of the seat without sacrificing comfort. Parts manager Don listened to what I wanted to add to the bike, and drew up a perfect parts list that did just what I wanted without just going for the highest price gouge. After buying and receiving a running lights conversion kit, we found out they don't work with the 2011s with ABS -- immediate and full refund, no problem! Service manager Smitty and master mechanic Rick spent over an hour making the adjustments to fit the bike to me and got everything put together in the shop. Jeanine, Debbie, and Michelle were all awesome to deal with in getting some wearable gear. Finally, unsung Angie was terrific in getting the bike registered and titled in Virginia, even though I was buying it in Maryland. Here's one more example of the type of outfit HD Washington is: yesterday I got a $14 refund in the mail from Angie and I had no idea why. Turns out the taxes on the sale were slightly miscalculated, they discovered it in their accounting process, and immediately made good on it. Go find that sort of honesty and customer care out there in the world today! Bottomline: my initial gut instinct was right on the money. I made a great decision to do business with HD of Washington. It's been a great experience, and I have no doubt it will continue to be in the future."

I was troubleshooting a problem with my 2002 Road King for 2 days, and FINALLY decided it was a Crankshaft Position Sensor. Called the nearby HD Stores, and no one had it in stock. Called FT. Washington, and John Moo (in parts) answered... you had the part, so I planned on the 100 mile round trip to come get it. John was friendly and jovial on the phone, and was even nicer when I got to the store. And this was on a SUNDAY! I told him I was pretty sure that I needed the part, but if he or someone else could help me confirm the problem, I'd appreciate it... He sent me to Peggy (Service Writer). I explained my problems to Peggy, she listened intently, and confirmed what I thought... bad sensor. She didn't give advice as a service writer, but as a fellow rider. I thanksed her, and went to get the part (after looking around the store). A few minutes later, John paged me over the storewide intercom (he mistakenly callen me the "gentleman, looking for the crank sensor". I am not offended at being called a gentleman, but I definitely am NOT! When I answered the page, he told me one of the Master Tech (John) had stopped in the store and would answer any questions I had. After taking time to listen, John said the sensor could be the problem, and said "Good Luck". I also chatted with Donald in Parts, and Karen and Michelle in Clothing accessories..... EVERYBODY at your store is VERY FRIENDLY! To make a long story short (well, too late for that)... I enjoyed the store, and will definitely stop back in the future. I've been riding in this area for 8 years, and Ft Washington was the one store I never stopped in at... but I will be back! The end of the story is this: I got home, removed the old sensor and plugged in the new sensor.... and after days of troubleshooting, THEN trying to find the part.... the bike turned ove rand ran like a champ! "Just writing a note to let you know how pleased I am with some work Mickey did for me. He installed a painted inner fairing on my Road Glide, paying special attention to alignment, as I asked him to. Apparently, he had to modify the fairing to accomplish this. It's as perfect as possible and runs straight down the road. The painted inner fairing gives the bike a finished, custom look, one of the best upgrades I've made. "I was driving by and happend to look over and saw the dealership and said I have to stop there, cause I like stopping at all HD shops and see if they have anything I might need.LOL I always find something. Anyway as I entered the building I was greeted and asked if I would like someone to assist me? I asked about Softail parts and was directed toward them. Latter I found myself in the clothes dept. as I like to browse around and talk with the staff about different items. Everybody in the place treated me with the upmost respect. I found a nice leather HD vest on the clearance rack. I didnt know it at the time, but I needed a new one, so it went home with me.lol Anyway I had a great time in the Washington D.C. Harley Davidson dealership."
